NOTES
The organ was originally installed in a former building. In its original location,
the Great and Pedal were exposed to view, centered behind the pulpit. The Swell was
hidden from view to one side by drapes spanning the width of the front of the church.
A picture of this installation may be seen on page 3 in the February 1, 1955 issue of
The Diapason in an advertisement for Aeolian-Skinner.
The Pos. on Sw. and Pos. on Gr. finger pistons and toe studs are single-acting, and
also register the Unison Off for the manual to which the Positiv is being coupled. If
the Positiv on Great and Positiv on Pedal coupler tablets are registered by hand, they
do not activate the related Unison Off tablet.
It is not clear what the Electronic Inactive coupler tablet or Electronic expression
pedal were intended to control. It may be possible that Aeolian-Skinner was experimenting
with electronically-generated voices, and that the Positiv was going to be an electronic
division. Rodgers was doing pipe/electronic instruments with Fratelli-Ruffatti in the 50's.
