NOTES
The church's first pipe organ was a II-manual, 9-rank, tubular-pneumatic instrument
built by the Estey Organ Co. of Brattleboro, VT. in 1909 as their opus 720. It was
free-standing and encased with part of the Great 8' Open Diapason in the façade. The
keydesk was attached and projecting. In 1939-40, the Estey was electrified by Balcom
and Vaughan of Seattle, and a tenor C 8' Voix Celeste was added to the Swell. In 1951,
the Estey was sold in preparation for a new pipe organ. Balcom and Vaughan moved to
Estey and installed it at the Seattle First Church of the Nazarene.

In 1952, the new M.P. Möller, Opus 8315 was installed. It was a chambered instrument
of II-manuals and 10-ranks (?) controlled by a drawknob console.

The Great principal chorus (8, 4, 2, III-IV) and Swell flutes (8, 4/2, 2-2/3, and 1-3/5)
were added new by Balcom and Vaughan during the 1984 rebuild. The Great principal chorus
is exposed on a new chest cantilevered in front of the Swell chamber at the front, center
of the sanctuary.

The current Great 16'/8' Bourdon is the original Swell 16', 8' 4', 2-2/3', and 2' Lieblich
Gedeckt unit. The Great Gemshorn was originally on the Great manual at 8', 4', 2-2/3', and
2' pitches.

The Swell 8' Flûte á Cheminée utilizes the original Great 8' Clarabella stopped bass for
its first 12 notes. The new 1-3/5' Tierce breaks back to 3-1/5' pitch at g# 57 for the top
5 pipes.

The Pedal 16' Soubasse is the original Pedal 16' Bourdon. The Pedal 8' Principal / 2'
Octave unit is the original Great 8' Open Diapason, and the Pedal 4' Choral Bass is the
original Great 4' Octave.

The original Möller drawknob console was retained. New drawknob units were installed along
with a new solid state relay and combination action.

When the church moved in the mid 1990's to a new facility, they placed the Moller / B&V in
storage and purchased an electronic which they stated they would connect the pipe organ to
in the future.
