In 1829, the first pipe organ in Taunton was installed in the Broadway church. That I/6 instrument was built by Taunton residents Nathan Fisher and Zephaniah Hodges. The blind organist and composer Oliver Shaw played the dedicatory concert. This organ was replaced in 1845 by a two-manual and pedal instrument by E. & G. G. Hook Op. 68. -- 2005 OHS Handbook
