This was the 3-manual Johnson & Son organ from Broadway Congregation in Norwich, Conn. electrified by the Hall Organ Co. without other changes in 1928, and replaced there in 1968 by a new three-manual Berkshire Organ Co. instrument. The Norwich Johnson reused the case from the church's previous organ, an 1857 Hook. The Hook case was reused by Berkshire and the Johnson was installed without a case in the rear gallery of St. John's coincident with the completion of the new building in 1968. The Johnson was installed here without renovation and declined until it was nearly unplayable in the early 1980s. The church commissioned a new organ by C.B. Fisk ca. 1983. The Johnson pipes were parted out and the remains presumably destroyed by McNealy in 1984 when it was replaced by the Fisk loaner organ, a two-manual HInners. That organ was in turn relocated when the Fisk was installed in 1988.
