Emmons Howard of Westfield MA was hired to renovate the organ for $2500. Howard is the successor of Johnson & Son, the original builder of the organ. Some items included in the work to be done... action converted to tubular, lowering pitch of organ, installing a 61 note keyboard(s?) and 30 note pedal board, adding two new sets of pipes to the swell, Installing combination action which is operated by pistons between the keyboards, putting stops on tilt tabs, installing crescendo,the entire organ will be re-voiced, will contain 1493 pipes and 40 stops.
