This entry describes an original installation of a new pipe organ.
Identified by Andrew Henderson, citing information from this publication: St. Catharines Standard, May 26, 1903.
A new Walcker console was installed in 1957 by the Knoch Organ Company of London, Ontario. From the dedication program of the current Letourneau instrument (1990): "This instrument functioned well, serving the musical requirements of the church until the late 1960's, when water leaking from the roof onto the pipes and chests made it unplayable. A small Baldwin electronic instrument was purchased. However, in 1979 it was replaced by a larger one for the installation of Bishop Fulton as Bishop of the Diocese."
This instrument was removed prior to the installation of the Letourneau organ and was presumably destroyed/broken up for parts, although the Pedal 16' Open Wood Diapason was retained and installed in the current 1990 Letourneau organ.
