This instrument is: Extant and Playable in this location

Joshua Sobel on July 4th, 2022:

The building is now primarily used by a Spanish-speaking congregation, since 2019. The organ is playable, but in need of some work.

Joshua Sobel on July 4th, 2022:

The congregation that would become Southside Baptist was founded in 1892, and formed its current church in 1897. The present sanctuary was built in 1925. The original organ was a two-manual symphonic Austin, of which only the manual stack and stop rail survives. This instrument was evidently intended to replace it. It is not clear what happened to the original congregation, but the building sat unused for a few years before Tabernáculo Bautista Agua de Vida began using it in 2019. The organ, despite sitting unused and untuned during that period, is still playable.
