Daniel Hancock. -- The History of Sangamon County, Illinois, Together with Sketches of its Cities, Villages and Townships, Educational, Religious, Civil, Military, and Political History: Portraits of Prominent Persons, and Biographies of Representative Citizens, published by the Inter-State Publishing Company, Chicago, 1881, reports: "The organ was replaced in 1874, by the present large pipe organ with twenty stops, built by Joseph Gratian, of Alton. It cost the sum of $1,700."?
