This instrument is: Extant and Playable in this location
The organ was rebuilt over a period of 12 years ending in 2000. The instrument was combined with a Wicks organ (Opus 4095) that the congregation purchased from North Park University in Chicago. The Wicks instrument also included pipes from North Park's previous Möller (Opus 6688). Members of the congregation did much of the work, while other parts of the project were completed by Lauck Pipe Organ Company.
Database Manager on July 18th, 2012:
The congregation had a split in 1990. A group that retained the name First Netherlands Reformed Church built a new facility at 1261 Beckwith Ave. NE, also in Grand Rapids. The portion of the congregation that remained in this location became part of a new denomination called Heritage Netherlands Reformed.
