Rose Terrace was not the home of Horace Dodge, who died in 1920, long before the house was built. Rose Terrace was built by his widow, Anna Thompson Dodge Dillman, who reverted to the name Anna Thompson Dodge after divorcing Hugh Dillman in 1947.
Organ built for Horace Dodge Residence, Detroit, Michigan; he died in 1920 and the organ was never installed. It was put into storage. Anna Dodge's second husband, Hugh Dillman, demolished the first house and built a second house on the same site, known as "Rose Terrace," that was completed in 1934. Aeolian-Skinner installed the Aeolian organ in Rose Terrace at this time. In June 1974, the organ was removed and installed in Northwester Baptist Church, Southfield, Michigan; George Markey played the dedication recital on Jan. 19, 1975.
