The organ was relocated into side chambers during the 1951 chancel renovation project.

Updated through on-line information from Chad Boorsma -- The organ, which replaced an instrument by Granville Wood and Son, cost $16,000 and was dedicated with a concert by Professor Ollie Zuidema of Detroit in August of 1928. The instrument served the church from 1928-1982 until a Sipe organ was installed in the balcony. The Austin organ remained in the chancel until the pipes needed to be removed for air conditioning in 1988. The David Skinner Organ Company purchased the pipes and console and reconditioned them for later sale. The church had considered expanding the organ during chancel renovations in 1951, but were discouraged from doing so after consultation with professors of the School of Sacred Music of Union Theological Seminary.
