Born December, 1800 in Birmingham, England; father of John G. Standbridge and George O. Standbridge; in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1801; graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, c. 1822; organist, 1830s; began organ work, 1840; with William Darley and Jones; music teacher by 1850; active beyond 1865; died December 14, 1871 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
[update since the above source was published: JCB Standbridge was active into the year of his death, 1871, and worked on the Arch Street Methodist Church, Philadelphia organ with his sons.]
